Did you know your kids are still your kids past 5-years old? We know you actually do; however, it seems from the photographic standpoint, we see kids until they are about 5-years old, and then they seem to disappear. The motivation to get them photographed seems to diminish and we believe there are a couple of reasons for this:
First, they don’t change as quickly so it’s easy to procrastinate.
Second, they end up with busy lives and their own opinions on being photographed making it difficult to persuade them.
I can tell you from personal experience that when your children get old enough to be on their own, you treasure every age and every memory that you experienced while they were home. Certainly, as infants and toddlers and even small children, the memories are great and often recorded with photography. The sad reality in many cases is that those years from being a very young child (4, 5, 6 years old) up to their senior portrait are rarely represented in the portraits. These are years with every bit as many wonderful memories and important changes, not to mention the amazing things we can do when a child is old enough. So we’re posting this blog to twist your arm to not let this time get away from you. Truly, you will cherish these portraits. One little side note, please get in the photographs with your children as a parent or parents, because these photos, as much as they are for you, they are also for them and their heritage.
