“Regrets are mostly when you look back and know, you coulda, shoulda, but didn't. Those thoughts weigh too heavy.”

The report you've been putting off is due tomorrow. It's time to buckle down, open your computer ... and check your phone. Make that dental appointment you dread. Or maybe you should just start in the morning?

This is the cycle of procrastination.

We see procrastination play out daily in our business when clients bring their (now grown) children in for a portrait that we last saw when they were in diapers.

What happened?

Procrastination happened and it is our greatest challenge to keep reminding parents to not let too much time pass.

It is why we wrote our guide for the best ages to get your children photographed which we call “A Life in Portraits.”

When you feel tempted to procrastinate, don't give in to the urge. Instead, force yourself to spend at least a few minutes working on the task. In many cases, you might find that it is easier to complete once you get started.

I know I do.

Portraits at 4 years old, at 16 and at 18.
