Tween to early teen…Ages of Significance

Part TWO on the subject of kids (if you can call them that) from the ages of 10-14 is interesting. So many changes happen between each of these ages.

Here are a few things I found out about each of these ages:

Age 10-They may enjoy team sports or individual activities, or be more into art, music, crafts or reading. They may also enjoy getting out in nature. They enjoy family activities

Age 11-Intensely interested in their appearance with definite ideas about what clothes to wear, etc.

Age 12-On the cusp of puberty, many physical, mental, emotional, and social changes start occuring.

Age 13-Instead of only thinking in terms of tangible objects, they begin to understand concepts such as faith and trust. They may also think they are unique or believe that no one understands them. Mood swings.

Age 14-Acceptance from their friends is very important, and they compare themselves to their pals. Most teens text their friends and are active on social platforms like Tik-Tok or Snapchat.

It is our desire that there be no regrets. Time doesn't stop or wait until exactly the right time to have a family portrait taken along with portraits of your child at this "significant" age.

You can't go back in time for a redo.

If you've been thinking about having a family portrait taken, DO IT!

For your children.

They won't notice the roots or a few extra pounds, a smile line or an extra wrinkle here or there, BUT we guarantee they will be disappointed when they are older and there are no family portraits to share with their children.
