PRINT…for your future. Your heart. Your family.
It has been said that nothing goes away on social media and the past lives on forever, but just try finding a photo on your phone from a birthday party or graduation that wasn’t last week or month or year. Those can be terribly difficult to find, if not impossible.
After my dad passed away, I couldn’t get enough of the portrait we had done of him and my mom just a year before. They looked amazing, healthy and happy. I put it at the top of our stairs so that I could see it as I walked by before heading to bed every night. Now, can you imagine if that image were only on my phone? Would I try to pull it up every night as I flipped through hundreds of other photos? Would I enjoy doing that? The answer is NO.
What is the future of our legacy as we continue on the digital path we are on?
We need to remember the value and importance of printed, framed and mounted photographs in our lives, not only for us, but for the generations after us. Children love to see images of themselves around the house, giving them a sense of belonging to their special “tribe.”
This is the POWER OF THE PRINT.
Here are a few thoughts about the danger of saving ALL OF YOUR MEMORIES on digital devices.
What if you lose your phone and don’t have your photos backed up?
You should be able to hold and touch your memories.
Technology will come and go, but a print is your tangible bridge from yesterday to tomorrow.
A flash drive, stuck in a drawer, is pointless.
Memories are tied to touch.
There is no replacement for sitting down and flipping through a family album.
Finally, you should show your family off! They are the love of your life!
We know gathering your family together to come into our studio for a family portrait can be a lot of work…but, when it is done and hanging on your wall, you can walk past it with a smile on your face, knowing you have accomplished a monumental task that will live on for generations.
