No regrets!

In a photography meeting years ago, we all joked about the ONE SHOT that we all wished we had taken, but it got away. Everyone had one:-)

For weeks after, as we thought about that missed opportunity, we had huge REGRETS. And we’re not talking about portraits of our children growing up, but a landscape or illustrative “shot.”

It’s funny…our girls were photographed often during their childhood as we are both photographers. Yet, I still have to look at a printed portrait to remember how they looked at each age.

It gives us great joy to be able to see them hanging on the gallery walls in our home, at all ages and stages, from baby to high school senior to early adulthood. And I can honestly say, we have NO REGRETS!

What causes regret?

In our industry of child and family portraiture, the cause is usually PROCRASTINATION or continually putting off coming in for a portrait.

The definition of procrastination is this, “The act or habit of procrastinating, or putting off to a future time; delay.

While it’s ok to delay some things in our crazy, busy lives, putting off or delaying your child’s portrait can cause regrets because you cannot go backwards.

We encounter many of our clients out and about our town and almost without exception, the conversation turns to “Oh I’ve been meaning to call you to schedule a portrait.”

Seeing this issue bubble up so often, we created an e-booklet titled Your Life in Portraits. In it, you will find the best times to have your children photographed and when to add in a family portrait.

It may not be the entire remedy, but it is a guide to give you a concrete timeline…and hopefully, NO REGRETS.

Sisters…what a special relationship to capture.
